The Putnam County Courthouse, Carmel, NY overlooks Lake Gleneida and is situated adjacent to the historical courthouse of 1814. Its contemporary architecture boasts a 5-story, 60,000 sf steel structure, an exterior consisting of brick and architectural pre-cast stone and a masonry façade topped with a copper green patina metal roof. Sections of the interior will have high octagonal ceilings with other areas having plaster veneer ceilings complimented with paneling and dental molding. This new courthouse will house the Jury Assembly, Courthouse Clerks and a public Law Library upon completion.
